This morning's lecture supposedly was scheduled to cover central nervous system components and drugs involved. but I gained something different other than the learning objectives. In the beginning it all seemed preachy, when a lecture that i expected to cover purely about drugs and treatment of disorderly mental health evolved into the discussion of happiness and the effects of having healthcare professionals in your kins. I would say that the lecturer had strong infusions of his personal inclinations, or more bluntly, was pretty emotional throughout the discussion of the mental state and its disorders, leaving his audience in a pit because apparently he's deviated from the usual uncaring lectures we receive on a day-to-day basis. This caught me off guard for the most part of the morning, but started to appeal to me after a while. Well apparently, it started my 8am a little better.
Thinking nothing much of this straight after lecture and prepared to hear incessant complaints (which I did, much to expected abhorrence), there was then news about this lecturer's past.. Which.. Led me to inferring more about his indignation, or more of a righteous anger, towards life as a whole.
(But there is still a doubt here that I'm judging this man, and I'm not advocating it, just putting forward that I'm still human.)
There is way more to this lecturer than meets the eye and here it comes, as cliche as it sounds, never judge a book by its cover, for a writer might have poured more about himself into his book than you'll ever imagine, and you're discrediting him if you don't pay well attention enough to his intentions.
And as you'd imagine by now, what he's said in that lecture has left a deeper imprint in my mind than any other lectures for this subject despite my knowing how important all these are to my future career.
